Product Description

Set in the art deco elegance of 1930s Europe, this series features Agatha Christie's most famous sleuth - Poirot - on the case at home in London and in exotic locales.

The Mysterious Affair At Styles
The Mysterious Affair at Styles was Agatha Christie's first published book and introduced Hercule Poirot, the eccentric and fastidious fictional detective of world renown. Set in a beautiful stately home in the war-torn England of 1917 - Hastings, recovering from his war injuries, accepts an invitation to visit his old friends the Cavendish family, including, much to his surprise, his old acquaintance from the Belgian police, celebrated detective Hercule Poirot. On arrival, there appears to be a great deal of tension - Emily Inglethorp has taken control of the family fortune after her husband's death much to the dismay of her spendthrift sons. However, it's not long before Poirot is launched into his first investigation after Mrs Inglethorp dies of strychnine poisoning and her sons become the key suspects.

The ABC Murders
A is for Andover, the town where Mrs Ascher is found battered to death. B is for Bexhill, where Betty Barnard is strangled. C is for Churston, the tiny Devonshire village where Sir Carmichael Clarke is murdered. Beside each body lies a copy of the ABC Railway Guide - open at the relevant page. The police are baffled. But the murderer has already made a grave mistake. He has challenged Hercule Poirot to unmask him.
