The Double Clue
For the first time in his life, Poirot falls in love with a beautiful Russian, the Countess Vera Rossakoff, whom Poirot meets during his investigation into four high society jewel robberies.

The Mystery Of The Spanish Chest
Poirot is approached by a lady who asserts that the life of her friend is threatened by her jealous husband. The husband is suspicious about a relationship between his wife and a handsome Major. At a party the grizzly discovery is made of Edward Clayton's body in a large ornate chest.
 
The Theft Of The Royal Ruby
In a restaurant a drunken young prince staggers after his female companion who has stolen his priceless ruby.  Poirot is briefed by the Foreign Office about the theft of the gem belonging to the petulant heir to the King of Egypt.

The Affair At The Victory Ball
A radio star is found dead from a cocaine overdose after attending a Ball at which Poirot was also present.  At the ball Poirot noticed the star arguing with Viscount Cronshaw who was later found dead in the supper room.

The Mystery Of Hunter`s Lodge
Hastings is invited to a grouse shoot which goes disastrously wrong.  Later that evening, a mystery figure arrives at Hunter's Lodge and murders Roger Havering in his gun room.
